Art Deco Farmer (Mumbai)

Here’s the lady from the Art Deco series. This one is inspired by one of the murals of New India Assurance Building (Mumbai/Bombay), India. These murals have always fascinated me since I was a kid. The illustration’s art deco architectural style combines modern art deco features with a modified classicism. It has an architectural drawing style because of original mural and line art style. The murals on the building symbolise the coming together of the agricultural and the industrial societies, constructed in 1936 in Mumbai. This also seems to symbolise how man and women together are putting efforts in developing the nation further.

This is a great gift for house warming or for your own wall. A must buy souvenir to capture the Mumbai art deco era.

This illustration has been created by Jayesh Raut.
